Blackberry Birthday

Hey, all! Sorry it's been a minute! We're staying busy over here :) We are big fans of March Madness so we're watching many basketball games. Also, this is our first Spring here at the new place so MANY projects are on our to do list. And of course I'm still working on taxes. Yuck!! But I am finding snippets of time here and there to create. I've finished quite a few kits and old Paper Pumpkins that are hanging around.

Here is a card I made several of recently for my birthday stash! How many of you have piles of Designer Paper hanging around? This is the perfect use for it! And, so many different patterns/papers would work!

I used the Bloom Impressions pack from the most recent Sale-A-Bration. One sheet made me six cards! Such a pretty background. Over the background I stamped in White Craft ink, then appied White embossing powder and heated. I snipped the corners off with an old punch, layered onto Petunia Pop and then a base of Blackberry Bliss. A white ribbon knotted at the bottom, and white sequins accent the embossing. The picture is a little lighter than it acutally looks in person. Metallic lembossing powder would work well for this too!

Thanks for stopping by! I will be back soon as I created some Thank You cards this morning, will share as soon as I think they've been received. And I want to do a couple birthday cards as well! Happy Weekend all! Product details and shopping links below!

Spotlight Elements

Morning all! Needed to create last night after working on tax stuff most of the afternoon! And I needed a few birthday cards to mail today. I caved last week and bought the Spotlight on Nature bundle with the intent to combine it with the Elements of Text set. I've seen some GREAT combos with these two. Here is my first of hopefully many!!

Need to work on my picture taking, they always seem a little crooked - sorry! Peach Pie card base with an accent of Crumb Cake behind Basic White. The edges of both the Basic White and Crumb Cake were roughed and then sponged with Crumb Cake ink. I stamped the circle script from Elements of Text in Crumb Cake in the center and went around with one of the splatter images as well, some full strength, some stamped off once. I then stamped over the circle with the flower image in Pecan Pie. I grabbed my Peach Pie blends and Lemon Lime Twist and added color to the flowers and stem/leaves. I went over the flowers with my Wink of Stella pen. The happy birthday is from a retired set but I like the script with that background. It is also stamped in Pecan Pie. A retired Jute ribbon is knotted in the center over the stem.

Excited to play more with these! I think a fussy cut flower would be neat too as it would have some dimension! And the color possibilities are endless :)

Thanks for stopping by today - product links below! Reminder just a few days left of Sale-A-Bration - it ends with February!!

Stamp room

I promised pictures of my room, here we go! I will also try to explain some of my organization as we go. The room is a small bedroom in our basement, off the main room. We have a ranch house with a walkout basement with lots of windows, so the main room is long, bright and open. Looking into my room. Note: you should be able to click these pictures to enlarge and see better if desired!

I have a window as well, but outside it has a wooden cover over the egress window. So, I just leave the curtain shut as very little light would be coming in. File cabinet and desk against the left wall, cabinet, side table (with stereo) and couch along the window wall.

The couch and closed closet doors. Many things are hiding back there! This closet is under the stairs so quite deep! Punch holder on the door holds many of the black punches SU! used to have. Baskets on the floor have overflow ribbon.

Cubes in the corner that were purchased from Michaels many years ago. Some are designed for paper storage, many for other things. I'm using sticky notes for labels :) The upper drawers are holding envelopes and cards. I've sorted completed cards into categories and paired with coordinating envelopes, so they are ready to mail. Many accessories are stored here, watercolor paper, extra cardstock, chipboard, light table etc. I may officially label the drawers once I'm a little more settled!

The wardrobe next to the cubes, open to see one side. I store stamps in here and this is still a major work in progress. Stamps are the one thing I've not completely gotten through. There are lots! And every time I look through some, I change my mind on what to keep or what I might use!

The file cabinet next to my desk. The top has marker storage, embellishment storage (brads, eyelets, buttons), watercolor pencils, blender pens and water pens and my Stampin' Cut and Emboss machine. It is nice to have this accessible on a surface. I used to spend time on the floor die cutting but I'm too old for that now!! The marker storage here are both from Stamp-n-Storage. I've had the one on the right for quite a while, it is the Marker Holder for Stampin' Blends. It holds all my current regular markers plus a decent number of Blends as I do not have them all. The left one is the "Marker Nook" and has a variety of retired regular markers and blends. The embellishment storage towers (retired SU!) fit perfectly on top of these!!

The drawers in the file cabinet are current cardstock, each in a file.

I keep them by color family. 3 families plus one set of In Colors in the top drawer, Neutrals and the other In Color in the bottom.

Here is the table, with just the ink pad storage I just added from Stamp-n-Storage. These are the Standard Ink Pad Holder, two on the bottom size 60. Two more on top size 30. The width of these perfectly fits my table. I tried to make this work previously, but I wasn't hitting on the right ones! They also have some that hold ink pads, markers and refills, but this seems to work best for me and my space! They stack together nicely and have an additional "kickstand" piece you can get to raise off the desk. My paper trimmer, some clear blocks, stamp cleaner and dauber holders fit perfectly under!

Here is the table with everything on it.

I chose these pad holders because I have a mix of stamp pads. Stampin' Up! has changed several times in the almost 25 years I've been a Demo. I have some of the original pads (top left) and many of the "middle" pads, the first "top flip". The newest pads are smaller than those, but there is a plan to house them all together!! The middle pads fit these holes perfectly. There is a wooden spacer you can get for the newer pads, literally just a small piece of wood you put at the back of the slot. And for the smaller pads, like the original SU, or a Stazon or Memento, they make "U" shaped spacers to hold those in place. That is a wall of stamp pads but so far, I am loving it! So fun to have all those colors right in front of me to choose from!

I found some acrylic totes to put reinkers in that sit perfectly on top of the ink pad holders. Again, sticky note labels! The ink pads are sorted with current colors in the lower left holder, by family. Subtles, Bright, Regals, Neutrals and In Colors with room at the top for Versamark, Stazon, Memento, Craft White and a few more! Original SU! pads, retired colors are top left. The right side is all retired colors. I've sorted the reinkers into the totes in similar order. One extra tote currently has ribbon as well.

A small drawer cabinet I got from my Sister-in-law. Actually, I think we traded, she took a cabinet I wasn't using, and I took this one!

More surface area for cutting tools. Inside are adhesive refills, containers of embossing powder and glitter, and my Simply Scored. Not deep drawers but they get the job done!

Ribbon storage! I've shared these before, at least on my Facebook Page. Lots of ribbon here, mostly sorted by color and so cool and handy to see it all!!

Finally, a peek into the closet. Lots of 12x12 DSP in boxes, and retired CS 8-1/2 x 11. I did sort that alphabetically so I can find what I want! Extra supplies, overflow embellishments. Embossing folders and dies. Boxes of stamps and dies in the back that still need to be gone through.

Will probably always be a work in progress! I do hope to use up some of this stuff, and sell some of it too!

Thanks all for stopping by today! Check out Stamp-n-Storage if you haven't, they have quite a variety of products to help you get organized!! They have FREE Shipping this weekend!!

Rewards changes

Hey, all! Hope you are staying warm! Quite the cold snap around here, but we are getting close to the end! And Spring is NOT far away :)

Rewards Changes! I warned a while back that this was coming and now we've been given a date of April 15. From what I see, overall, this is good, but change is change!! Always a bit of a learning curve! The new program means rewards for all in a more simple, fair and secure way!

The current "host program" for rewards is going away completely. Going forward everyone earns rewards on every order of $20 or more. Rewards will be a flat 10% earned on every order *but* to be used on future orders. Customers need to place their own orders to receive the rewards. I can place orders if need be, but you will not earn the rewards on those orders. So, if you don't have an online account yet with Stampin' Up!, set it up now and get familiar with it! Rewards will be earned on each order you place; you choose when to redeem them. Rewards are valid for 12 months. Save them over time to apply to larger items or use as you go in small increments to stock supplies!

Most of you following me here already have an online account and are familiar with the system. The benefit to you is now you get 10% back on every order (over $20). Win win! There will be no more Host codes from me, just reminders to use your rewards!! I'm learning this right along with you, and I don't yet know the full extent of what I can see (if anything) pertaining to rewards. Stampin' Up! will track your rewards, nothing you need to do but decide when to use them

Let me know if you have questions! I will give you several reminders before April 15 of the change coming!!

Stamp-n-Storage

Hey all, I have recently become an affiliate for Stamp-n-Storage. I've watched their products for years and bought the blends holder several years back. After getting moved and working on my new room, I invested in several stamp pad holders and another marker holder. LOVE the stamp pad holders!! Pictures soon! Every time I think about taking pictures, the desk is too much a mess :)

But, they are having a sale for Valentines! If you haven't seen their products, use my link to take a look!

Lavender Element Birthday

Hey all, long time no see! I've been doing other things, like getting started on taxes and working on organization in the stamp room! Good news, progress has been made, and I really feel like I can sit down and start creating! Stamps still need work, but other things are in GREAT shape!!

I went down Friday afternoon and came out with several things complete! Here is one. I've been itching to give this new stamp set try! Elements of Text is a new online exclusive set and recently came into my possession! I paired it with Painted Lavender and a birthday saying from a retired set, Endless Birthday Wishes.

Card base is Gorgeous Grape with a Crumb Cake accent layer behind Very Vanilla. On the Vanilla, I stamped the circle text image in Crumb Cake, then stamped over in Gorgeous Grape for the flowers and Old Olive for the stems. I roughed the edges of both the Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake with a (retired) distressing tool then went over both with a sponge and Crumb Cake ink. I stamped the happy birthday off to the left side in Gorgeous Grape and added a knotted linen ribbon at the top of the stamp. Final accent, Antique Pearls. Love it!
